What is a Conservation District?

Conservation Districts are local units of government dedicated to land and water conservation. They are established under Minnesota State Statue and governed by an elected board.

Does Grant SWCD sell trees?

Sorry we do not sell trees. However, the following SWCDs in surrounding counties do sell trees and can be purchased even if you live in Grant County.

 

What kind of projects does a SWCD aid with?

Project scope varies form ag conservation practices to urban rain gardens. We work in all kinds of environments to gain the best outcome for the landowner and the local soil and water resource. Here is a brief list of some of the things we can assist with: Ag. Field windbreaks, buffer law implementation, conservation cover, conservation easements, cost-share assistance, cover crops, erosion control, filter strips, rain gardens, reduced tillage, shoreline improvements, water plan implementation, water testing clinics, and habitat improvement projects.
