Come join our Rain fall volunteer team!!

The Grant County Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD) is looking for volunteers for our Rain Gauge Observation team! Over the past couple of decades, the Grant SWCD has partnered up with The Minnesota Climatology Network for the Rain Gauge Observation Program. The State of Minnesota relies on volunteer observers to collect data on Grant County’s precipitation. The information collected provide first hand insight for weather, water supply, flood forecasts, for assessing drought severity and impacts, for severe storm prediction, and so much more. No prior experience needed.

Volunteers are provided all observation equipment including:

o   An official All Weather Rain Gauge

o   All necessary data collection forms

o   Envelopes and postage for mailing collection forms
